Doug Kenny
It was a blistering hot day at the Charlotte County Speedway
when Doug finished 2nd in his heat race to put him in the #4 spot
for the start of the 25 lap feature.
He maintained that position until he dropped back 3 places,
during the scramble to pass "Big Al" Neuman in the #4 truck.
The number of caution flags emphasized
the trouble the racers were having getting around the track.
Which of course, made for an exciting race.
Doug added to that excitement by turning a 360 down the front straightaway.
Or as one friend called to question the next day - - -
"Was that a 360, or a 720?!?"
At one point, he unavoidably crashed into the #25 truck
as it came shooting back up the track, sideways, in front of him.
This incident contributed to one of the cautions,
and left Doug with his left front bumper and fender rubbing the tire
for the duration of the race.
The race was called under a caution, due to time.
Doug finished in 3rd Place, behind Paul Grenewicz in the #2 Spot,
and Doug Miller with the Checkered Flag.
Doug Miller was disqualified due to excessive left-side weight, giving Paul Grenewicz the #1 position, Doug Kenny the #2 position and moving Todd Bontrager, in the #8 truck, into the #3 spot.
Great Race Guys! Congratulations!
Check out the pics of the damage!
